1897

1897 is an urban contemporary exhibition by Osa Seven that reinterprets the 1897 British expedition and celebrates the resilience and artistry of the Benin Kingdom. Through vivid street art techniques, Osa reimagines key historical figures — warriors, healers, and courtiers — as symbols of strength, loyalty, and devotion, blending traditional motifs with modern artistry. Highlighting Benin’s cultural wealth and sacred traditions, the exhibition bridges past and present, honoring the kingdom’s enduring legacy despite the colonial looting and destruction. 1897 is a tribute to history, resilience, and the timeless spirit of Benin.

“The Dream Collection” is a series of art pieces that tells a story about how humans are a collection of their dreams.

Each art work shows the inner spirit of the character bursting with colors and patterns that depict our various inner dreams – sometimes clear, sometimes tangled. The defined heads are the carriers of these dreams – the people who have to live day to day with the hope of bringing to life all that they envision inside. The collection sparks the question – Are we simply a collection of our dreams ?

Fact: This collection was birth from a REM dream that the artist had.

“Lines in the Yellow Sun” is a series that explores the quiet strength and radiance of the human spirit.
Each piece captures a character shaped by bold lines and embraced by a golden halo — a symbol of light, warmth, and belonging. The lines trace the contours of emotion, heritage, and belonging, while the sun signifies life, resilience, and hopeful beginnings. Together, they ask a simple question: What light guides us from within?

Fact: This collection was inspired by Osa’s fascination with the interplay between heritage, identity, and the timeless glow of the sun.
